Description The Distribution Centre Supervisor is an operational “jack of all trades.” The DC Supervisor must have a solid understanding of the functioning of each department as well as understanding the impact that each department has on each other. The DC Supervisor will oversee their assigned department as well as maintain the highest operational standards throughout the Distribution Centre.Responsibilities•Supervise/lead the team in your assigned department (if applicable);•Be present, continuously moving throughout the DC to ensure that all of the teams are operating safely and efficiently;•Maintain the building and all assets to the highest standards of safety and cleanliness;•Ensure all equipment is operational, if it is not, follow lock out procedures and escalate;•Maintain open communication with Team members, Department Supervisors, ADs/Director and HR (when needed);•Develop your team. Help Lufa Farms develop tomorrow’s Team Leads by coaching, mentoring and providing continuous feedback) ;•Complete weekly 1-1’s with your team leads;•Review all reports, as required by your Supervisor and provide detailed action plans to improve;•Lead by example. Behave in the way that you would expect your team to behave;•Complete all tasks on daily checklist, if applicable;•Undertake continuous improvement projects.. Be creative, we are currently building the next generation of Lufa Farms;•Manage staffing levels appropriately. Must be able to project staffing needs for the upcoming days/week;•Participate in interdepartmental meetings;•Monitor productivity of team members, manage performance;•Be firm. If someone is not meeting expectations, lay out the expectations in a documented conversation;•Follow up with the team daily, either in shift meetings, 1-1’s or coaching conversations; •Build up your team. Positive feedback is just as important as constructive feedback.
