DescriptionAt Lufa Farms, we’re on a mission to create a better food system and a huge part of this is achieved by growing food where people live, and growing it responsibly. We also partner with hundreds of local farmers and foodmakers to offer a full lineup of fresh, local, responsible groceries through our online Marketplace. To support the growth of our food operations, we’re looking for a Demand Planning & Inventory Coordinator to take ownership of short-term demand forecasting and translate those forecasts into accurate inventory movements across our production kitchen, portioning centre, warehouse, online Marketplace, suppliers, and greenhouses.This role sits at the heart of our food operations. It’s highly analytical yet very hands-on and field-oriented - ideal for someone who enjoys turning data into daily actions in a fast-paced, constantly evolving food environment.Responsibilities•Build and maintain a short-term demand forecast (approximately a 3 to 4 week horizon);•Adjust forecasts based on sales trends, seasonality, promotions, and product changes;•Translate demand forecasts into ingredient requirements for kitchen production and the portioning centre;•Determine daily quantities to be pulled from warehouse inventory for operations;•Ensure adherence to FIFO principles and product shelf-life constraints;•Track inventory levels for ingredients sourced from third-party suppliers and our greenhouses;•Compare planned versus actual usage and analyze variances;•Provide Purchasing teams with clear forecasts to support order quantities and ordering frequency;•Collaborate with production, purchasing, warehouse, and greenhouse teams to align demand, inventory, and production;•Identify risks related to stockouts, overstocks, or waste;•Maintain and improve the planning tools used (e.g., Google Sheets);•Track and analyze key metrics such as forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and food waste.Requirements•2 to 5 years of experience in demand planning, inventory planning, supply chain, or operations analytics;•Strong analytical and forecasting skills;•Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel;•Experience working with perishable or short shelf-life products;•Solid operational understanding and ability to connect planning with execution;•Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams;•Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with imperfect data;•Excellent communication skills in both English and French (spoken and written).Assets•Experience in food production, grocery, meal kits, or CPG;•Exposure to short-term operational planning or S&OP processes;•Familiarity with FIFO, lot tracking, and inventory aging;•Experience improving or structuring manual planning tools.Schedule•40 hours per week.
